ACI filings for Air Freight will undergo the same process as introduced with ACI for Sea Freight. You can read how to submit an ACI filing here. The only difference between the two ACI types (Air and Sea) is the introduction of a new document type in the case of ACI for Air Freight - Air WayBill Copy (AWBC) which is replacing a mandatory document in the case of ACI for Sea Freight - Bill of Lading Copy (BLC). All other required documents are the same for both ACI types. Also, the same ACI filing fees apply for both ACI types.
From the 15th of May 2022, the public pilot ACI for Air Freight begins and the Egyptian customs platform NAFEZA is open to all Egyptian companies (importers), allowing them to register their import shipments with NAFEZA and request the ACID number. On the exporter's side, the CargoX Platform is open to all companies who want to submit an ACI filing for Air Freight electronically.
The Egyptian ACI system for air freight is postponed by the Egyptian Minister of Finance. The exact date of mandatory operation is not yet set. Please contact Egyptian customs / NAFEZA support at ACI.CAMPAIGN@MTS-EGY.COM for more information regarding the postponement of the ACI Air mandatory operation launch.
To prepare for the ACI filing, please read the Egypt ACI step-by-step guide available here.
With the newly introduced delegations feature on the CargoX Platform, the exporter company can now invite another registered and validated company (freight forwarders, agents, and similar specialists) to become its representative for ACI filings to the Egyptian Customs Authority.
