If you are an EU-based company, you will see a menu called Tax settings after clicking on the gear icon (⚙), where you can verify your VAT number against the VIES database. On the page you can see your VAT number (as set in your company details), TAX location (Country), and your country's VAT rate.
To verify your VAT number against the VIES click the green Verify now button. Verifying your Primary VAT in VIES is free of charge.
After a short time, the VAT status will update. If your VIES verification:
- was successful, the VAT rate will be shown as 0%, and you will not have VAT applied when buying units (𝕌).
- fails, you will continue to have VAT charged at your national VAT rate with every purchase. Please note that even with VAT applied, you should still be able to get a VAT refund from your local tax authority, as this is your entry VAT. More information on what to do, if your VAT verification fails, can be found here.
