How to compose and send an ACI envelope

A step-by-step guide to sending a new Egypt ACI envelope:

Open the ACI notification

After the importer registers their shipment along with the exporter’s information on the NAFEZA portal, the exporter receives an ACI notification that contains the ACID number along with other export information in their Inbox on the CargoX Platform. More information about this step can be found here.

   

Tip

You can also start the process by clicking on the green Compose button. In the next step click the Choose button next to the Egypt ACI envelope. In this case, you can skip step 2. Also, the ACID number in step 3 won't be pre-selected and you will be asked to enter it manually.

Create a new Egypt ACI envelope

Click the green Compose ACI filing button.

   

Tip

To view all ACI details click on the Download button.

New ACI envelope is created

This creates a new blank ACI envelope where the recipient is already preselected, as it is only possible to send an ACI envelope to Egyptian customs (NAFEZA). Also the ACID number from the ACI notification is already preselected.

Upload documents

To add documents click on the:

1. Upload new documents or
2. Choose from inbox

   

Help

A typical ACI filing will contain these required documents. Depending on your shipment more documents might be required (various certificates etc). Please check the list of accepted documents and supported file formats for ACI filing.

Open documents properties.

Open documents properties by clicking on the Properties button.

Add additional document information

enter the:

1. mandatory Document type information by using the dropdown menu to scroll through all available document types, or clicking in the field and start typing to filter down the possibilities.
2. additional mandatory fields. Some document types such as bills of lading or certificates can have more of mandatory fields that you need to fill. Those are clearly marked with a red “This field is required!”
      

   

   Warning

   It is recommended that the NAFEZA-specified Excel invoice document passes validation from NAFEZA. More info can be found here.
3. Once you are satisfied with the document properties, click the green Save button to return to the envelope view. You can repeat the process of providing properties for other documents.

Help

You will see the checklist being updated with check marks as specific documents are added to the envelope. This is just a visual indicator to help you keep track of documents added to the envelope.

Seal the envelope

1. By writing in the provided field, you can add an optional text message to the envelope that will be only visible to NAFEZA.
2. In the bottom right corner of the envelope, you can see the price to transfer the envelope.
3. Once you are satisfied with the envelope, click the orange Seal button to prepare it for transfer. After doing so, the envelope remains in your possession, but clicking unlocks the possibility to transfer it.

   

Note

The Seal button is only active (orange), if all the attached documents have their mandatory fields filled out.

Help

If the envelope is sealed, you can always unseal it by clicking on the gray Unseal button at the bottom of the envelope pop-up. Now you can edit all the envelope’s elements again. After that, you can seal the envelope once more. You can also click on the Delete draft button if you no longer need the envelope.

Transfer the envelope

After the envelope is sealed, click on the green Transfer button.

Digitally sign the transfer

To confirm the transfer, you must authenticate and digitally sign it with your blockchain key. To perform this action follow this guide.

Success

Wait for the action to be completed. After that you can Close the window.
