What does a freight forwarder need to do?

Foreign freight forwarders (Origin Stations outside of Egypt) are required to register on the CargoX Platform, and (same as the exporters to Egypt) complete the company verification.

Per our information, foreign (origin) freight forwarders do not need to send any documents over the CargoX Platform. They just need to supply the BL they issued to their customers (the exporters), and then it is the exporter’s duty to send a COPY of this bill of lading, along with other required documents, to the Egyptian customs/NAFEZA Platform over the CargoX Platform within their ACI filing. For up-to-date information on the responsibility of the Freight Forwarders within the ACI process, please visit the NAFEZA website. The new regulation is in effect from 1 November 2021. Further instructions about the required documents and the process itself can be found on the official NAFEZA website (document titled: Shipping Lines/Agents Questions and Answers – ACI, in section 2). While Egyptian freight forwarders (Agents in Egypt) are required to register only on the NAFEZA portal, they are always welcome to register their free CargoX account as well. 

Tip

With the newly introduced delegations feature on the CargoX Platform, the exporter company can now invite another registered and validated company (freight forwarders, agents, and similar specialists) to become its representative for ACI filings to the Egyptian Customs Authority.
