How can an exporter to Egypt who cannot access international bank payments due to war or sanctions pass the CargoX verification process?

On 13 October 2021, the Egyptian Customs Authority (ECA) presented a solution for exporters that are unable to pass the CargoX company verification process due to limited access to international banking. Currently, this applies to exporters from Syria and Sudan, but the list is not exclusive.

Register on the CargoX Platform

Such exporters always need to start the procedure by registering their CargoX account.

Contact NAFEZA

Then the exporter needs to contact their Egyptian importer with their CargoX ID and required documentation. The exporter will need to present the required documents to ECA, and this needs to be done through their Egyptian importers.

Wait for approval

After ECA approves foreign exporters, CargoX will receive a list of the foreign exporters with the assigned special verified status.

Fund your account

This will allow them to immediately fund their CargoX account by any source (preferably through a credit card for an instant purchase).

A one-time, 15-unit (𝕌) verification fee (equal to $15) will be deducted from the CargoX account balance of exporters that receive a manual verification pass.
